Parking Management app with IoT integration

Designed and developed the Container Yard Parking management solution integrated with Boom barrier, Automatic number plate scanner, CCTV, public announcement and QR Code scanner for Port operations team to align the gate-in and gate-out process for Trucks
Objective
PIA is one of the largest Industrial park in Togo. Spread across 400 Hectares, it includes an industrial zone, a commercial zone, a container yard to hold 12,500 containers, parking for 700 trucks
One of their challenge was to manage fleet coming in or going out of the park. While brainstorming this problem we realised it was much more than just managing the fleet. Few other challenges which we found were:
- Unable to find containers available for loading
- Huge dependency of two employees, who were engaged all day just calling drivers to load the vehicles
- No record of the fleet’s destination within the port.
- No trace of entry/exit time of the trucks

- Delay in loading/unloading of the fleet
- Track entry/exit of the fleet
- Unable to Contact truck drivers
- No defined SoPs for the operators, drivers, admins
- Revenue loss due to manual parking process
Solution
After having on-ground discussions with the operations team, we created a process flow and software requirement specification document for the web and Android app.
Below mentioned are some of the major features:
- User Roles included Admin, Operator, Driver and Transport company
- Self Check-in/Check-out for drivers and operators
- Integration with Boom-barriers, CCTV, ANPR, Bluetooth Printer, Public address systems and Display boards.
- Offline Android app to handle poor internet connectivity
- Parking floor plan map for Admin and Operators to have a bird’s eye view for available slots, available drivers etc.
- Billing Management for accounts to raise invoice to transport companies
- Discount Management – Offer discounts to select transport companies based on the volume
